中文

  NMT is an advance music therapy discipline with application for people with neurological impairments. It is an evidenced based treatment system with standardized procedures for motor, speech and cognitive rehabilitation.

  NMT techniques are able to improve:
   1. motor functions such as walking and limb movements;
   2. speech functions such as speech loss and delayed speech development;
   3. cognitive functions such as memory and attention.

  NMT is effective with stroke patients, people with cerebral palsy, autism, delayed speech development, Parkinson and Alziemer's disease, etc.

  NMT has been developed by Dr. Michael Thaut in the Center for Biomedical Research in Music,Colorado State University. NMT has gained international recognition since 1995 and it is one of the few fast growing advance disciplines in the music therapy profession.

  Music therapist who has received NMT training from the Center for Biomedical Research in Music would be designated a title Neurologic Music Therapist. Those who continues to receive advanced training (within 3 years) would be designated a title Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow (NMTF).

  Our Centre Director Mr. Pang has received the initial training in 2004 and attended the advanced training in August 2007 and has been designated a title as Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow.
